Playpublik

Playpublik

Over the last decade, a bunch of festivals celebrating games and playful experiences in urban spaces have popped up in cities around the world: from New York to London, from Berlin to Copenhagen, from Sydney to San Francisco. Bringing together a grassroots community of artists, designers, activists, urban planners, teachers, theater makers and digital developers, events like Playpublik (seen here) 2012 in Berlin collectively explore what happens when people come together to play with the spaces of their city. While having lots of fun and making friends, the possibilities and limits of urban life are tested and renegotiated.
